Introduction
America the Beautiful is an editorial style book dedicated to
celebrating America’s 250th anniversary, the Semiquincentennial.
The purpose of this work is to unite the American people and rekindle
a spirit of patriotism within our nation. In today’s culture, love for one’s
country is often met with skepticism or criticism, yet patriotism should
never be controversial or political. At its core, patriotism simply means
loving one’s country, taking pride in it, and holding a deep appreciation
for all that it has provided.
America is a land truly blessed by God. People across the world can
attest that America remains one of the freest, most opportunity-driven,
diverse, and influential nations on Earth. It is a country that not only
serves its own people but also stands as a global superpower that
steps forward to help others in times of need. These are the values
that shape the deeply coveted “American Dream” that so many
people around the world aspire to pursue.
This book begins by exploring America’s founding history and the
enduring principles that have guided the nation since its birth. It
invites us to return to our roots, to remember what truly matters,
to recognize how we arrived here, and to rediscover ideas that are
too easily forgotten. The rest of the book features a diverse group
of Americans, each in a different season of life, honoring their unique
career paths and callings. Through their stories, each individual offers
a personal perspective on America and how this country has shaped,
influenced, and blessed their lives in meaningful ways.
It felt fitting to take advantage of this rare moment in history
by reflecting on the beauty of the nation we call home. This is
our Esther moment- we were made for such a time as this.
