What is your age?
"20 years old."
Why do you love America?
"I love America because of her core values of freedom and rights for all of her citizens. It is an absolute
blessing to live in a country formed from Christian roots where I have the freedom to live and pursue
happiness as the Founding Fathers envisioned. Although America may not be perfect in this sinful world,
it truly is one of the greatest countries in world history and I'm blessed by God to be able to live here."
What part of America’s history inspires you?
"What inspires me about American history is the tenacity and passionate nature of the great leaders of
our nation's past. They believed so strongly in the idea of "America" and human rights that they were
willing to go through the ringer to defend, expand, and promote these core values. From the boldness
of the revolutionary Americans who sought freedom and independence, to the stoic leaders who defended
and expanded American values amidst world conflicts, and most importantly the brave men and women
of all eras who fought for our freedoms; all these incredible people dedicated themselves to the United
States of America and that in and of itself is an incredible and rich history for such a young country."
What do you think is important for the next generation to know?
"I think the most important thing for the next generation to understand is how we got to where we
are today in America, and why we got there. The vision for American values began with grand ideas of
Freedom and Citizenship in the Greco-Roman era, and throughout Western history (Renaissance,
Reformation, Enlightenment, etc.) we can see these ideas grew and expand into the foundational
material for the Founding Fathers as they crafted what the values and government of a new nation by
and for the people would look like. Although not all of our history is sunshine and rainbows, I think it
is vital for the next generation to deeply understand American history to better appreciate what makes
our nation so special."
